Company
VendOrca, Inc. builds VendOrca, the AI-native vendor management system (VMS) for companies that use contractors, freelancers and outsourced teams. It is part of Inevitable AI Group, and I founded it. Posts about the VendOrca company sit here rather than in the category topics: why it exists and how we decide what to build, including how we handle the data and access our customers trust us with.
The short version of why: most of the work in a contingent workforce program is not strategy. It is answering the same three questions, over and over, for every person and every invoice. Who approved this? What does it cost? Did the work get done? With a handful of contractors you can answer them in a spreadsheet. Somewhere past that, the spreadsheet stops being a record and starts being a rumour.
I wanted a system you could set up yourself by describing your program in plain language, that would draft its own rules and wait for a person to apply them, and that would keep every change as a new record instead of overwriting the old one. That is the product we built. The posts in this topic explain the thinking behind it, in the first person, with the reasoning shown.
Some things you will not find here. No customer names and no customer counts: we do not publish them, and a company blog that invents traction is worse than one with none. No roadmap dates, because a date in a blog post reads as a promise. No press releases dressed up as posts. If a post makes a claim about the product, it links the docs page that backs it. If it makes a claim about the market, it names its source.
What you will find is how we make decisions about a product that sits right next to a company's money and never touches it, and why we made the ones we did.
